Learn how to sew the fashion industry way
Level: Anyone who can use a machine and want to make clothes 
Duration: 1 day - 7hr
Materials and tools: All included/ you can bring your own fabric must be at least 2.5 meters.
(We will work from size 12 blocks, choice of making top or bottom)
Course contents will cover:
  • How to  make a garment fast and efficiently from a pattern block, Learn how to read garment constructions/ assembly notes
  • How to pin and cut garment pieces and stitch together  
  • How to read specification sheets
  • Learn measurement requirement, high quality finishes and seams
  • Importance of pressing
On completion:
  • Take away instructions and handouts of garment contractions for further learning.
  • Take away completed garment and notes.
  • SIIL certificate.

FOLLOW ON COURSE:  If  may want to  continue learning, we recommend  our 3hr a day (£10 an hr) drop in flexible work shop for 2 days a week for 6 weeks to build up skills. Talk to studio manager  for free work placement in a factory, real life work and learning, which could lead to paid work within the garment industry. Please  enquire with tutor after this course.
